MLM & The Law Unfortunately MLM is not taken seriously by most reporters. This means that MLM news isn't considered newsworthy until it really hits the big time. Otherwise more people would be aware of how widespread the corruption really runs. Every week there are several MLM companies in hot water in any one of a half a dozen States at any given moment. If you follow the news stories for a few years you will start to notice the names of a few players. They get busted, pay some money and are often opening a second or third MLM business while the first one is still getting raked over the coals. Then there are the smooth operators who close the MLMs before the Attorney Generals can catch up with them. Now we have the Internet. Chances are that if you ever go to MLM meetings you will never hear about these ongoing run ins with the Law the MLM Industry always seems to find itself in. If there is any mention of litigation the Dream Weaver will quickly point out how that "Bad" company, you know the one that gives all of us good companies a bad reputation, was in violation of a law but that MLM is perfectly legal in all 50 states and that you are at the meeting of a legitimate MLM that sells products. And again chances are very high if you are at the meeting of a company that is under 5 years old that you were just handed a bag of horseshit. Actually if you bone up on the law and are at all familiar with MLM you will quickly realize that well in excess of 95% of the MLM companies on the playing field today are breaking teh law each and every day. I may expand this section of the site at some time in the future but for now I will just suggest that you goto: http://www.mlmlaw.com/ they have lots of information your Dream Weaver will never tell you about. All I want to address is the fact that you are regularly led to believe that your MLM opportunity of the week is legal and being operated by sound leadership. Remember, the more experienced your MLM leadership is in MLM the more likely it is that they have had run ins with the law. That is business as usual in the MLM world. Watch out!
